A Finish Date
Three items crossed off the day, a signed opinion, the next month, and payday

The edge

A Finish Date what stays outside the day

A lender's email asked for statements and a signed opinion in the same breath. The day is easier to trust when the page also says what it does not include. Silence is how extra work sneaks in.

See the edge

Hold the day

A signed opinion is a different product

Some lenders want a report that assures them the numbers are fair. That report is not a cleanup, and it is not produced here. If your contract demands it, the opening conversation names a firm that can sign it, and this project stops at the books. We do not imitate the report.

Saying this once, in plain words, saves a month of confusion. Owners sometimes think a tidy set of statements is the same thing as that assurance. It is not. Tidy means the day was met. Assurance is someone else's signature.

The next month is not a bonus

When the named day arrives and the list is true, the project is over. The following month is a new promise. It has its own close, its own statements, and its own yes. Folding it into the cleanup because everyone is already in the file is how a project becomes a job with no end.

If you want the month after, say so, and we will write that yes on its own line. If you do not, we will not start it to be helpful. Helpful, here, is stopping.

Payday keeps its own calendar

People still get paid while the old months are being matched. That calendar belongs to the provider you already pay. We will set accounts up, talk through what a wage is and what an owner draw is, and leave the running of payday where it already lives.

A cleanup that also promises to run payroll has mixed two businesses. One of them has a deposit schedule and a payday. The other has a day the books become usable. They can sit next to each other. They are not the same line on the paper.

A filed year is not reopened by accident

If a return already went in, the named day does not quietly amend it. Reopening that year is a separate decision, with its own reason. Leaving it alone is also a decision, and it belongs on the list so nobody assumes the other one.

The same rule covers a yearly report a state may ask for while you are still catching up. Either the numbers that report needs are in the project, or the report is named as still open. It does not get finished by hope.
